Speaking from experience, the best kept A.I.R. secret is tucked away in Newark, NJ at 73 Market Street. About 1000 sq feet of work space, 24-7 access, visiting curators and gallery directors, solo exhibition, catalogue , networking with local, national and international peers, collaborative projects, critique sessions, lectures, and artist video productions. It was my good fortunate to experience this last year with six amazing peers. Wish me luck for this timely opportunity! The residency compliments the Aljira Emerge11 program also starting February. It is befitting, two-fold, as I prepare for my first solo show at Aferro in September. The show, “Sowing Promise” is about environmental systems and concerns.
